The Seniors Network hosts a task group that meets monthly to work on the advocating for local seniors to be able to age in place with the affordable resources that they need to do so.
Current working projects from this group include
- Local resources for housing for seniors
- Researching affordable retrofit options for senior homes to support their needs as they age.
- Recommendations to mayor and council on the housing needs of seniors
- Working behind the scenes to bring developers to the table to increase the amount of affordable seniors housing locally.
- To increase awareness of the issues seniors are facing that increases their difficulty to age in place
- To provide learning opportunities to local seniors around peace of mind planning as they age.
