Contract Opportunity – Community Development Coordinator
The Seniors Network Society of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows has a contract job opening for a part-time Coordinator. The successful candidate will be passionate about strengthening programs and services for seniors by engaging and empowering older adults to take a leadership role in the community.
Overview
The Seniors Network is a community-based, registered society whose mandate is to be a senior led and seniors driven organization that facilitates a community response to seniors’ issues through collaboration, education, planning, research, information sharing.
Key issues the Seniors Network addresses include housing, transportation, caregiving, age, and dementia friendly issues and creating strong senior volunteer participation. Both the City of Maple Ridge and City of Pitt Meadows have received the Age Friendly Community designation from the Province of BC and the City of Maple Ridge is also a member of the Global Network of Age Friendly Cities. This work is a core priority.
This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall oversight, leadership, direction, and operation of all initiatives within the portfolio.
The Seniors Network is composed of older adult community members and representatives of service providers, government agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and service clubs that are involved in and care about seniors residing in these communities. The Seniors Network creates a central arena for a collective voice, networking and to set agendas for seniors, seniors’ organizations, and the community.

Job Type: Contractor
Job Status: This is a contract position, part-time, approximately 25-30 hours per week, paid at $30 per hour, plus mileage allowance.
Work Schedule: Days and hours are flexible, except for the Seniors Network meeting times which are fixed and occur every second month on the last Wednesday of the month.
Contract amount: This contract is for $42,000 per year, renewable after one year.
